The short answer

No 2026 Black Friday deals are live yet — checked October 2026. Early-bird pricing typically appears in the first week of November, with the deepest discounts over Black Friday weekend (Nov 27–30, 2026).

Most Black Friday VPN “deals” are the everyday 2-year price wearing a costume. The way to judge a deal: compare it against the provider's price last month — and against the renewal price, which is where the real money is. Below are today's verified baseline prices; we flag genuine November drops here as they appear.

How we judge a real deal (our 4-rule filter)

1

Beat the baseline

The November price must beat October's everyday 2-year price — not the inflated monthly rate.

2

Survive the renewal

A $2/mo deal that renews at $12/mo costs more over 4 years than a $3/mo deal renewing at $6. Do the 4-year math.

3

Money-back intact

Real deals keep the 30-day guarantee. If a promo waives it, walk away.

4

No bundle traps

Free password-manager trials bundled into “deals” auto-renew at full price. Check the fine print.

Should you skip Black Friday entirely?

Black Friday is for committing to two years at a cheap rate. If that doesn't match how you'll actually use a VPN, the deal isn't a deal — here's who should sit this one out:

Two traps our baselines don't catch

1. The renewal you can't see

The most aggressive trick this year is a deeply discounted intro that renews at full retail — sometimes 6–10× the monthly rate. EU and California rules require the renewal price to be disclosed, but the disclosure is routinely buried at the bottom of the checkout flow. Before you buy, scroll to the price summary and find the renewal figure in writing, then set a calendar reminder a week before the auto-renew date. Riding sale cycles usually costs less over three years than autopaying full retail.

2. Buying twice by accident

Lock the deal, then immediately turn off auto-renewal. You keep the full discounted term — you just stop the provider from billing you at full retail when it ends. And if you're mid-subscription elsewhere, don't stack: overlap months are months you paid for twice.

Questions, answered

Are Black Friday VPN deals real?

Sometimes. VPN providers genuinely discount 2-year plans in November — but the '83% off' banners usually compare against a monthly price nobody pays. Compare against the provider's own price last month, not the banner math. And always check the renewal price: a deal that doubles at renewal isn't a deal.

When do VPN Black Friday deals start?

Most providers launch early-bird pricing in the first week of November, with the deepest discounts over Black Friday weekend (Nov 27–30, 2026) extending into Cyber Monday. We update this page as genuine deals appear.

What's the best VPN deal right now?

Outside sale season, Surfshark's $2.49/mo 2-year plan with its honest $79/yr renewal is the best standing value. During Black Friday, watch for NordVPN's 2-year plan dropping near that level — that's when it becomes the buy.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a VPN?

If you need one now, buy now — the everyday 2-year prices are already 60–70% off monthly rates, and every provider has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If your purchase can wait 3–4 weeks and it's October, waiting for late-November pricing is reasonable.

I'm already a subscriber — can I get the Black Friday price?

Usually not on your current term. Black Friday pricing targets new purchases, so the standard move is to let your term run down, turn off auto-renew, and rebuy at the promo rate when it appears. Don't stack it early — you'll just reset your billing clock and pay for overlap.

Are 'lifetime VPN' deals ever worth it?

Treat them as a red flag. No major reputable VPN sells lifetime subscriptions. Lifetime VPNs have a long history of changing owners, changing jurisdictions, or quietly degrading the service to push you onto a paid renewal. A 2-year deal from an established provider costs less per month and still exists in year three.

Is Cyber Monday any different from Black Friday for VPNs?

Barely. VPN pricing typically goes live in early November and holds through Cyber Monday, with a smaller secondary sale around New Year. Prices rarely drop further on the literal Black Friday weekend — the 'deadline' is mostly marketing.
